Fully Chromatic
The 14/13/8 Chickadee Chromatic hammered dulcimer is the fully chromatic version of our 13/12 Chickadee. It adds the third bridge on the left with the three missing notes at the bottom of the two main bridges added at the top of the third. Below that are five courses used for low bass.
The tuning of these is optional within a certain range, but Chris tunes them from the bottom up: Low G, Low C, then D, E, and F# to complete the lower octave of the key of D. Sometimes he tunes the second note from C down to B and can get a G major arpeggio over four full octaves!
A really versatile small dulcimer!
Perfect for Jam Sessions
The Chickadee Chromatic produces a clear ring that projects well, and holds its own very well in a room full of other instruments.

The DG-255 I received from Lark in the Morning was easily as beautiful as presented. The padded gig bag is a huge plus as well.
The guitar is a solid and has a bigger, more forward sound than I'd anticipated which suits me just fine. It plays easily, surely even more so after I have a guitar tech get it set up for me.
Nice people, excellent service, quick shipping. Nothing not to like here.
This whistle has a beautiful, warm tone and is very responsive. I have used a variety of whistles (including other Kerry whistles), and this one is my favorite to play. While recording my latest album, I needed a whistle in this key pretty quickly, and Lark in the Morning had this delivered to me within a few days. I highly recommend this instrument, and Lark in the Morning is a fantastic place to purchase from with excellent customer service.
I already play a mountain lap dulcimer, but this one gives the instrument a whole different dimension to playing. Really beautiful craftsmanship. Thus isn’t a toy, but a lovely wooden instrument. Very easy to play!
Multifacsited approach to something fun to do!
Plays like a dream. I have MS and am no longer able to play guitar, but this uke let's me play songs again and sing. I had no idea how much I'd missed having music in my body. Thanks, Lark!
