Cross-tuning, or scordatura as it is called in classical music, refers to the practice of altering the tuning of one or more strings. This technique makes some double stops easier to play, and adds a different dimension to the basic resonance of the fiddle. This spiral bound collection contains 39 cross-tuned fiddle tunes utilizing 11 different tunings. Scales for each of these tunings are also provided, to inform and confuse the fiddler. There are two staves for each tune as well as each scale. The top stave is the way you play the tune after you have cross-tuned. The bottom stave is the way you play the tune in standard tuning.

I already play a mountain lap dulcimer, but this one gives the instrument a whole different dimension to playing. Really beautiful craftsmanship. Thus isn’t a toy, but a lovely wooden instrument. Very easy to play!

Multifacsited approach to something fun to do!

Plays like a dream. I have MS and am no longer able to play guitar, but this uke let's me play songs again and sing. I had no idea how much I'd missed having music in my body. Thanks, Lark!

I love these little hand carved wood whistles from Brazil

These are great! They have a grand sound!
