The modern Gu Zheng typically has 21 strings. Most commonly tuned in D major, the notes are tuned to a pentatonic scale: D, E, F#, A & B.

I already play a mountain lap dulcimer, but this one gives the instrument a whole different dimension to playing. Really beautiful craftsmanship. Thus isn’t a toy, but a lovely wooden instrument. Very easy to play!
